BIOGRAPHY
Kimerik Blaze, born Daniel S. Fernandez, is an electronic dance music producer, singer and songwriter out of the small town of Santa Paula, California. His exposure to music began at a very early age. Being the son of the music artist Chayin y Sus Invisibles, Mexican music was a big part of his childhood upbringing. Yet, his love and exposure to dance music began in his early teens roughly around the same time he began to learn the piano. "I still remember those never ending rehearsals with my dad. Being a young teen, I wasn't really interested in learning. Yet, I always knew I wanted to do music, but something more synthetic upbeat sounding. I actually ended up performing Si Tu Te Vas by Enrique Iglesias (Techno Remix) at one my dad's gigs. This was back in 1998, I was 13 and so nervous. I remember thinking to myself, I never want to sing or perform live ever again".
In 2002, having only a simple two disk mixer, he took on the alias DJ Prophecy and began playing at a few local parties. In 2003, he upgraded to turntables and took on a different alias DJ Alchemy which was given to him by one of his best friends. It was a better suited alias, primarily because of his creativity to mix different genres of music together which made for some great live mashup's. And although he enjoyed being a DJ, his heart was set on creating electronic dance music. Thus, In 2004, he started to compose music with a program now called FL Studio. And after four long years of trial and error and figuring out the fundamentals of composing music, he released his first single Misled. "First songs are always rough on the edges, but it was a big achievement for me to be able to have my first single out on iTunes. Achieving this really made me want to pursue creating dance music much more".
2010 was a special year for two reasons. One, he recorded his first vocal cover Idilio as made famous by Monica Naranjo. Two, he entered the "Blake Lewis "Heartbreak on Vinyl‟ Remix Contest at RemixGalaxy.com. (c) TommyBoy Entertainment, LLC" and was chosen by Blake Lewis & Tommy Boy Entertainment as the grand prize winner. "There were a lot of good remix entries and I couldn't believe that I had been chosen as the grand prize winner. That gave me such a huge confidence boost. Remixing that song helped me transform my mix into a more cleaner sound." Since then he's entered a couple of other remix contests such as the "Beatportals Martin Solveig feat. Dragonette-Hello Remix contest" and a couple of contests sponsored by Indaba Music which has added some exposure.
Throughout the next couple of years, he spent a lot of time in the studio singing and songwriting trying to find his voice. He had written a few songs in the past, but never considered recording them. He wanted to find a balance where electronic dance music met deep meaningful songwriting. Thus, in 2012, he took on the alias Kimerik Blaze. "Kimerik Blaze is that intense flame inside of me that has so much to express lyrically. With that being said, I encourage my listeners to decode the message that I am trying to express in every song as it comes from the heart. And if I can make a difference for someone with my music, then I've accomplished what I set off to do."
